Painless Treatment of Plantar Warts

Plantar warts are cause by a viral infection of the skin. They are contagious. The virus infects healthy skin causing a benign tumor of the skin. The wart does not grow beyond the layer of skin and cannot survive in the blood stream. There are several different methods for treating plantar warts. Some of these treatments can be quite painful. We do not recommend liquid nitrogen in the treatment of planter warts. This can be very painful making it difficult to walk for several days. Laser treatments are available for treatment of warts but require a local anesthetic. In instances where the patient has several warts or clusters of warts the laser is an excellent option. For isolated warts we recommend a painless treatment that requires no injections or down time from work, sports or everyday activities. The warts are trimmed painlessly and a chemical treatment applied to kill the virus that causes the wart. A follow-up treatment is recommended in ten days. If the wart does not respond to this treatment then alternative treatments are discussed. This treatment has a very high success rate and the best part... it does not hurt.
